Graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Worked with General Electric Co. installing gas and steam turbines in power plants.
Served U S Army Ordnance Corps attaining the rank of Capitan.
Field Engineer installing major industrial equipment in paper mills with primary responsibility for electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
Entered the Retail Field by working for Rich’s Department Store in Atlanta, Georgia.
Responsibilities included Real Estate, Property Development, Planning, Design, Construction and Maintenance for all facilities.
Located and evaluated regional shopping center sites, Evaluated market research, Negotiated real estate purchases. Managed in-house architects, planners, designers, Maintenance personnel. Retained outside Architects, Land Planners, Engineers and Contractors to build and remodel all projects. Identified outside developers and negotiated lease and operating agreements to build regional shopping centers.
Formed a new firm Gorman & Associates, Inc. to provide a total range of services that related to the planning, design, construction, maintenance of all types of real estate. Retail Planning and Design was the main focus although this firm functioned in all aspects of real estate. Interior Design Magazine recognized our firm as one of the Top 100 Interior Design firms in the nation for 5 years running.

Regional Shopping Center Developers, Major Resorts, Office Building
Developers, Clubs, Independent Retailers, Major Corporations such as
General Motors, IBM, Xerox, Dun & Bradstreet,
